PROJECT CHINATOWN STATION

For the San Francisco subway expansion, we provided a custom engineering solution to construct the 60 meter long Chinatown Subway Station. Located deep beneath a densely populated urban area, this project required the precise execution of a 15 meter diameter inner lining using our flexible VARIOKIT system. Our specialized VTC Tunnel Formwork Carriage allowed for seamless adaptation to changing tunnel profiles through telescopic posts, ensuring a highly cost effective workflow. By utilizing lightweight timber formwork and hydraulic support, we simplified jobsite logistics and accelerated construction cycles for our client Tutor Perini Civil, successfully overcoming the challenges of limited space and complex oval geometries.
