For the prestigious HS2 high speed railway project in the UK, we delivered a cutting edge engineering solution for the 880 meter long Copthall Tunnel. Partnering with the Skanska Costain STRABAG Joint Venture, we deployed four fully hydraulic custom formwork travelers designed for the simultaneous casting of walls and roof slabs. Our system utilizes high load capacity wheels to move directly on the base slab without rails, eliminating heavy crane dependence and reducing labor requirements by over 80 percent. This 100 percent hydraulic automation, combined with reusable steel panels, saved five days per cycle while significantly lowering carbon emissions, helping our client meet ambitious sustainability and safety targets for this iconic green tunnel.
